Valuing Home Modifications at Specialist Disability Conference
Coral Gillett presented a summary of recent research on Home Modifications that has been undertaken by the Hopkins Centre at an SDA Conferences & Events seminar, recently.
Her summary outlined both phases of Valuing Home Mods project that interrogates the concepts of ‘value’ and ‘value for money’ in Home Modification practice from the perspectives of both the clinicians (Occupational Therapists) and the end-users (people with a disability who have modified their homes).

The audience saw the ‘Survive, Strive, Thrive’ framework as especially useful and transferrable to a person-centred approach to Specialist Disability Accommodation.
