Hopkins Hour Event Resources: Accessible and supportive housing for the future
Thank you to everyone who joined the virtual Hopkins Hour live event on 20 May 2021 about 'Accessible and supportive housing for the future'.
Hosted by the Positive Environments and Communities Research Stream and presented by Hopkins Research Fellows, Dr Grace Bitner and Dr Camila Shirota, and Soo Oh, Advanced Occupational Therapist and HabITec Clinical Lead from Metro South Health, at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
In this session, Dr Bitner shared project findings, that are helping to improve understandings of the current disability accommodation landscape in Queensland, highlighting the barriers and opportunities that individuals, their families, and service providers currently face. Dr Shirota and Soo Oh introduced the Home to Hospital project, which is using technology to help speed up the home modification process and better include those seeking to return home from hospital following a spinal cord or acquired brain injury.
