Annerley Bates
Dr Annerley Bates is a Senior Social Worker with the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Queensland, Australia. She has worked in a range of social work fields including child protection, addictions, and health. She commenced her research in the field of student learning when she completed the Honours year of her Social Work degree. She developed this further during her PhD when she investigated the transition of graduates into professional work as Statutory Child Protection Officers. Since then she has completed a number of evidenced based research projects related to her clinical roles within health. In 2014 she commenced her Post-doctoral work, supervised by Associate Professor Grahame Simpson focussing on acquired brain injury (ABI) as a result of violence, the impact of ABI on families and carers and the significance of an ABI inpatient peer support group.
